«If you fight you can lose, if you don’t fight you are lost»
My sporting life is completely developed as a basketball player, in which I have been competing since 2007. Throughout all these years I have had the opportunity to play in various teams and countries, being able to meet a crowd and learning about them and their experiences.
What basketball means in my life.
I think that basketball, with all that it implies, has changed my life, from the moment I started practising it, and not only because of the fact of practising this sport in particular, but because of everything that sport, as a team, in this case, it teaches you. Thanks to this I have been able to get to know myself better, face frustration and failures, bettering myself more and more, becoming a better person both on and off the court. Also, I have learned to remain calm in decisive and stressful situations, such as the last minute of a final in which your team is losing by 2 points, and emerge victorious from them. Either with the learning of the defeat and the purpose of doing better next time or with a victory. It has taught me to work as a team, and not only has it taught me, but it has made me a team player, learning that each person has their value within the group and that no matter how insignificant the role may seem someone or what they contribute, always fulfils its role and is completely necessary. It has made me understand that both in basketball and in life, the most important thing is not always to win, but rather that the greatest victory is learning from mistakes and appreciating imperfections to be a better person day by day. It has also allowed me to learn about the experiences of my teammates, and make friends who will go with me, and me with them, until the end of my life no matter the distance. Also, I have understood and got to know the culture of other countries, especially during my time in Edinburgh playing for the first university team. In short, basketball and sports have made me the person you are meeting on this website, and for this reason, I think it deserves a page on my resume. Without further ado, I would like to summarize my career since I started, as well as some results and competitions in which I have participated.
